have you heard of Lo & Sons

i've mentioned before i have a little bit of an obsession with handbags and for the past three to four years i've been pretty devoted to MZ Wallace to make me happy.  this company does not disappoint but my pocket book can not keep up with their new designs, colors, and different materials they've introduced in the last couple of years.  i have a variety of their handbags and my black Francis with leather tassels is one of my favorites to haul my crap to and from work but it gets quite heavy..

not the best photo... but meet my MZ Wallace Francis

i love the detail of the MZ Wallace Francis from the leather tassels to the variety of pockets and they always include a detachable coin purse made from the same bad ass Teflon coated material as their handbags (note some of their bags are made from leather, canvas, and non Teflon coated nylon and I'm not what coin purse material they are paired with) but again it gets heavy especially when i pack in my work iPad for the day.  so the last couple of years i've started noticing a new nylon bag that preaches loudly it is durable, fashionable, and LIGHT WEIGHT!!!

Lo & Sons offers light weight travel bags that also have a timeless design.  these bags look more designer than then do travel if you know what i mean but they take on travel like a fighter champ.  at least i've read that they travel like a champ because i'm still dreaming of owing a Lo & Sons O.G. - Overnight & Gym Bag in Raspberry.  not only do these handbags look great they problem solve for the busy traveler... where do i put my laptop... why in the padded laptop sleeve and how about the iPad they have another padded sleeve for you too and pockets for pens and wallets and even an exterior hidden pocket for that extra pair of heels or gym shoes.

when i first noticed the company a few years ago they only offered the O.G. in classic black and possibly one other color but just recently in the last six months or so they have introduced two bright and lively colors one being Raspberry (in total they now offer six colors for their O.G. bag).  boy oh boy did i fall in love with the Raspberry color and this will be a torrid love affair that some day hopefully will have a happy ending.

wish these were my arms wrapped around the O.G. in Raspberry!

check out their website @loandsons.com yourself to see the variety of travel bags they offer and if you are lucky enough to own one of their bags in the near future please let me know how they work out for you!  i believe they are also offering a 25% off Share & Save discount code until this Sunday for you lucky should be owners!

how was the weekend?

my weekend went something like this...

One happy beverage!

do you know what i mean by writing this past weekend actually felt like a weekend? i did the usual chores on Saturday morning but the rest of the weekend felt totally enjoyable and well... like a weekend. we had good food, good company, a bonfire, a relaxing drive to Stillwater, and a random stop in Hudson, WI to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. gotta love weekends like that.

oh and my Everlane tee came and the medium is a better fit than the small... but i'd actually like to try the women's size large because the shirts are comfy but they still aren't as long as i'd like them to be and i'm not that tall at 5' 3" but i prefer shirts that go past my hips but this is my preference.  the tee's are still very soft and feel so comfortable on it's just the overall style that's different from my favorite J.Crew vintage v-neck tees.

one last thing from my weekend... totally got the best deal at Anthropologie on a lovely simple long muted black dress for what I thought was going to be 19.99 or something but checked out for 9.00 something and originally was 78.00 gotta love it when that happens!

good luck with Monday 'all

loving the customer service at EVERLANE

i'm always up for trying new brands especially when they carry comfy t-shirts and v-necks. in the summer i live in J.Crew's vintage v-neck tees and watch their sales like a hawk to try and add to my collection without going broke (okay i know 29.50 probably isn't a big deal for others but i'm still a gal on a budget!)  i've read about EVERLANE on other blogger sites like Blushing Ambition and Pink Horror Show but i hadn't yet tried the brand for myself. i decided it was time to bite the bullet and after i signed-up for the members only site i was emailed a free shipping offer so it was a no brainier.

Everlane offers simple chic cotton wears at an affordable price and they also have a line of leather belts and tote bags. i found a v-neck tee in a color i don't own and hit the order button. the order was processed quickly and shipping didn't take too long for free shipping. i'm a big presentation/packing gal and once my shirt arrived and i opened the package the kraft paper wrap of the t-shirt was a nice touch.

unfortunately for me the v-neck didn't work out at least not in a size small. i'm five feet three inches with a 26 inch waist and wear a small/x-small in J.Crew v-necks but the small for Everlane was very small... almost tummy baring short and quite snug... maybe it was bad batch maybe it's because i don't have the same build/frame as the model (she was five feet seven inches with a 25 inch waist) on their site who was wearing an x-small that looked loose and relaxed... which still baffles me on how the small didn't fit me but regardless i just want to say that my feedback was well received and the customer service that was offered when i contacted Everlane was FANTASTIC.

online shopping can still have ups and downs but when i'm willing to try a new brand and it doesn't work but the company goes above and beyond to provide stellar customer service i'll be willing to try again with said company (sounds like a no brainier but this seems more like a rarity then the norm). i do have to say the material of the Everlane tees is a dreamy soft cotton that is not too thick or too thin at least for my liking. long story short my first order didn't get me the dream v-neck results i was hoping for but i'm willing to try again.

next in line for a v-neck slub cotton review is Lands' End Canvas... they had a steal on their version of slub cotton v-necks (9.99) and i located a free shipping coupon to boot. we'll see... all this extra time to find a slightly more affordable version of my favorite J.Crew vintage v-neck may not be worth the trouble.
